Intro to Eastern Park Lawn Bowls Club
Foundation members worked tirelessly to establish the first greens and facilities in 1913 in readiness for the first game with ‘the fascinating bowls’.
Early records show that in 1914 the Eastern Park Club initated the formation of the region’s first bowling association to conduct pennant competitions and to govern the game in Geelong. The Club enjoyed great success during the 1960’s with their Men’s A1 pennant side winning 6 consecutive premierships.
THe heritage style clubrooms were rebuilt in 1942 after being destroyed by fire. Club members and the East Geelong community rallied once again in 1969 to rebuild the hedge facing Garden Street caught fire. Hot ember driven by a strong notherly wind ignited a fire which destroyed the main section of the clubhouse.

Our Goal
Out office bearers see the club adopting a fresh approach which aims to offer our spacious clubrooms and facilities to the wider community.
Changes to the layout of our clubrooms now provide a more open and user-friendly environment that can be enjoyed by all. Kitchen, Bar, Louge, Dinning and Boardroom facilities have been added and upgraded to appeal to individuals or groups looking for a place to relax, conduct social activities or to meet and discuss business.
The club encourages the Geelong community to support our ongoing existence in the region by visiting our facilities, consider becoming a member or by supporting the club through business sponsorship or donation.
Our aim is to become one of the leading clubs of our type in Geelong.
